Modern Slavery Statement

Last updated

This statement sets out the steps we take to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or our supply chain. It is published voluntarily and reviewed each financial year.

These policies are published in good faith and describe how Executive Chauffeurs UK works in practice. They are reviewed annually and reissued sooner where our operation or the law changes; the date at the head of each page shows when the current version was issued. If anything here is unclear, or you need a detail that is not published, our client service desk will answer on WhatsApp at +44 7775 554848 or through the contact page.

1. Purpose and scope

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires commercial organisations above a defined turnover threshold to publish an annual slavery and human trafficking statement. Where our turnover falls below that threshold, we publish this statement voluntarily because the expectation is reasonable and our clients are entitled to see our position.

This statement covers Executive Chauffeurs UK and the chauffeur and private hire work carried out under our operator licence across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It relates to our most recently completed financial year and was approved by the board on 15 January 2026.

It is signed on behalf of the board by the director responsible for compliance. It is reviewed and reissued annually, and the date at the head of this page shows when the current version was issued.

2. Our business and supply chain

We provide chauffeur-driven private hire transport across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for private, corporate and event travel. The work is delivered by licensed chauffeurs using vehicles we operate or lease, coordinated by a client service desk.

Our supply chain is short and comparatively visible. It consists principally of vehicle supply and leasing, servicing and tyres, valeting and cleaning, fuel and charging, licensed partner operators used for overflow work, and business services such as accounting, insurance and software.

The categories we consider carry the greatest inherent risk are valeting and cleaning, where subcontracted labour is common, and partner operator work, where a driver may be several steps removed from us. These receive the most attention.

3. Our policy position

We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking in any part of our operations or supply chain. We expect the same standard of everyone who works with us, and we will end a relationship where that standard is not met and cannot be restored.

This position is supported by our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, our Safeguarding Policy and our Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy, which together cover recruitment fairness, the reporting of concerns and the integrity of commercial relationships.

No worker is charged a fee to obtain work with us, and no worker is required to surrender identity documents as a condition of employment or engagement.

4. Due diligence

  • Verifying the right to work of every employed and self-employed chauffeur before any work is allocated.
  • Confirming that each chauffeur holds a current private hire driver licence issued by the relevant local authority, and checking it at renewal.
  • Paying chauffeurs and staff directly into an account in their own name, never to a third party or an intermediary.
  • Requiring partner operators to confirm their licensing, insurance and labour practices before work is passed to them.
  • Including modern slavery expectations in supplier terms and asking new suppliers about subcontracted labour before engagement.
  • Reviewing higher-risk suppliers, particularly cleaning and valeting, more closely than routine ones.

5. Risk indicators our people watch for

Chauffeurs and desk staff are briefed on the signs that a worker may be controlled by someone else: pay directed to an account belonging to another person, an arrangement where one individual speaks for several workers, reluctance to hold their own documents, and shared transport and accommodation controlled by a third party.

Chauffeurs also encounter potential indicators among passengers, including a passenger who is not permitted to speak for themselves, who appears fearful or disoriented, or whose journey pattern is inconsistent with the account given. Concerns of this kind are raised under our Safeguarding Policy.

Anyone can raise a concern with a director, or send it through the WhatsApp client service desk on +44 7775 554848 and the contact page at executive-chauffeurs.uk/contact to be passed to one, where they would rather not approach a director directly. Concerns may be raised confidentially, and nobody who raises a concern in good faith will suffer detriment for doing so.

6. Training and awareness

Modern slavery awareness is included in induction for chauffeurs and office staff, and is refreshed at least annually alongside safeguarding briefing. Training covers what modern slavery looks like in transport and cleaning work, what to look for and exactly how to report.

Directors receive additional briefing on supply chain risk and on how to handle a report involving a supplier or partner operator, including preserving evidence and avoiding action that would put a potential victim at greater risk.

7. Reporting and next steps

Where we identify a credible indicator of modern slavery, we report it to the police and, where appropriate, to the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700, and we cooperate fully with any investigation. Safety of the potential victim takes priority over commercial considerations.

For the coming year we intend to extend written modern slavery expectations to all recurring suppliers, formalise the questions asked of partner operators before onboarding, and record training completion centrally so that gaps are visible.

Clients running their own supply chain due diligence are welcome to ask what checks we carry out on chauffeurs and partner operators, and to see the modern slavery wording we use in supplier terms. Requests reach us through the WhatsApp client service desk on +44 7775 554848 and the contact page at executive-chauffeurs.uk/contact.

Progress against these steps will be reported in next year's statement, whether or not the steps have been completed.
